Singapore - What better way to kick off 2019 with the biggest wallop or should we say Wicked Wallop? Happening this Saturday, 12 January, 10am till late on the seventh floor rooftop of Carros Centre, 60 Jalan Lam Huat.
If the location sounds familiar, that’s because its the same venue as last year’s Wicked Wallop and we all remember how wild and crazy that was. This year, the organisers have promised a show that’s even bigger and better. The fourth edition of Wicked Wallop is an annual event where bikers and bike-lovers come together to celebrate all things two-wheels.
As with all previous iterations of Wicked Wallop, the event is open to everyone and admission is free. 9tro will once again reprise our role as Official Media, with a booth of our own selling exclusive Wicked Wallop-only 9tro merchandise, along with our 9tro Angels and as nod of appreciation to Wicked Wallop’s Burn Out Pit at 9tro’s Alliance Meet, we will have a 9tro Burn Out Pit at Wicked Wallop too - for riders with a penchant to melt rubber!
Collectable leather tags will also be given by local craftsmen, Stone for Gold, to attendees. Speedzone’s Jonathan and Errol who also happen to be stunt showmen, will also be brining in pitbikes for fun rides. There will also be BMX riders showcasing their stunts on a ramp and airbag.
A big part of Wicked Wallop is music and this year’s show will feature some of the best live local performers like Jatt Ali, Bushmen and the Shaggies. As for international performers, there’s Thai rockabilly band, Trix-O-Treat, will return to Singapore to close the show.
Speaking of overseas, foreign brands account for more than 40% of the booths at the 2019 Wicked Wallop, these include organisers of various South East Asian bikeshows like Art of Speed, KL Bike Week, Johor International Bike Week, KustomFest and Bangkok Hotrod. The global rampage continues as some of the biggest cult brands and exhibitors will also showcase their wares - MoonEyes Japan, Von Dutch and SkullsNation - just to name a few would probably send riders into a frenzy!
The people from Rampage Ride will also be making an appearance with their motorcycles around 2pm, seeking a reversal of the ban on their cult classics through a petition, feel free to approach the ladies and gents to learn more about their vintage bikes and why they are challenging the rules and change in emission standards.
There will also be a Bike Contest open to everyone with awards for various classes to be given away including best of show - as always, the trophies and awards are handmade! For Singaporeans interested in entering the Bike Contest, you are required to register and leave your bikes at the event venue anytime between 3 - 9pm Friday, 11th January 2019. A registration fee of $30 will be paid by entrants and in return they will receive a t-shirt of the same value.
For those who depend on their rides for transport daily and foreigners, you can also turn up on the actual day to register and submit your bikes before 10am. All entrants are required to move their registered bikes to the designated area for the contest by 4pm with a prize presentation set for 5pm.
