Singapore - Last Friday, Team 9tro travelled with Bilstein Singapore to one of Singapore’s most critically acclaimed institutions, the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to cover a seminar led by Mr. James Tan, Bilstein Trainer with more than 16 years of experience in the field.
Presenting to an auditorium of over 20 students and alumni from the NTU Motoring Club, Mr. Tan gave the students an introductory course on Bilstein’s history, automotive suspension systems, technological advancements and explained to them how the various parts of a car’s shock absorber function.
Being engineering students, the Motoring Club members also posed several technical questions that showed their thirst for knowledge, while at the same time dispelling any common misconceptions about automotive suspension systems.
Needless to say the students were informed and entertained throughout the two hour seminar with some even coming up to partake in interactive exercises. After the seminar was concluded, the students were all given goodie bags containing a Bilstein polo-tee and several other memorabilia.
A few students even stayed back to have in-depth discussions with Mr. Tan regarding a car’s dampers and springs. It was indeed an eye-opening event for the students and we are looking forward to the next event with NTU’s Motoring Club!
