Not yet well loved, but yet well loved by some.

Singapore - I never quite envisioned Jimmy as a Porsche owner, after all he once owned a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 that made enough power to mow down Ferraris.

Thus, seeing him step out of an air-cooled 1979 Porsche 911 Super Carrera took some getting used to as the car never seemed to match his ‘type’ or ‘genre’ of machines.

Yet when Jimmy told me about his latest project late last year, it piqued my interest. I am no 911 guru, but my interest has made me research up on 911s which included the purchase of a book on 50 years of Porsche 911s shipped from the States.

Jimmy had sent this Porsche 911 SC to UK for a full rebuilt, which according to him, racked up some SGD$60,000 in expenses.

Bumpers with black bellows, electronically controlled mirrors in matching colours, all of which I'd imagine would be a way ahead of their time 38 years ago.

Whilst the 1979 SC should have anodised black chrome plated window frames, this SC spots some forward dating changes done over the past years. Haters stay away.
