Dubai, UAE - The end of the year is always full of events in Dubai but we are always waiting for one in particular, the Dubai International Motor Show (DMS). Indeed with the amazing weather coming, there is no better excuse for buying a new car!
This year DMS packed a truckload of novelties and special editions, such as the One of One Rolls Royce Phantom, the McLaren 720S Dubai edition as well as the the world premiere of the Infiniti QX80, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and the Devel Sixteen with 5,007hp!
Yes, you read that correctly, 5,007hp! Devel motors arrived with a rocket and put wheels on it. It’s driven by a 12.3-litre V16 engine and force-fed by 81mm quad-turbochargers which deliver its insane performance and 5,093Nm of torque. Regarding the design it is just stunning and we can’t wait to see it on the road.
Another amazing car is the Shaali N360, developed and built in Dubai. It’s a minimalistic vehicle that has no roof, nor climate control; everything has been made to be as light as possible just for racing while looking radically different from any machine we have ever seen. Its engine is based on the Suzuki Hayabusa one and will develop 360hp with a rpm limit of 10,000! It would seem like a second more affordable version will be launched with a Ford engine in the future.
Mercedes and AMG again featured their incredible ‘savoir-faire’ with the Project ONE. This is the closest you can ever get to driving an F1 car legally on the streets as the technology used comes directly comes from the race machine. The concept car is equipped with a 1.6-litre V6 turbo that is assisted with 4 electric motors. Project ONE looks more like a Le-Mans Prototype than F1 car to us. Could this be the next move for Mercedes?
