We are back at the Korean International Circuit (KIC) situated just outside the town of Mokpo, at the southern tip of the Korean Peninsular, for the final round of the 2018 TCR Korea Touring Car Series. With winter almost upon us, the cooling weather was a constant 10 degrees Celsius during the day before dipping to as low as 5 degrees in the evenings.
Practice Session 1
The race weekend kicked off on Saturday, 3rd November 2018 at 10.15AM local time with Practice Session 1 packing six cars on track amid fantastic weather. Going fastest for FP1 was the #30 Hyundai Motorsport i30 N TCR driven by Peter Terting on a 1 minute 20.179 seconds.
He was followed by Kim Jin Soo in the #99 Indigo Racing Hyundai i30 N TCR with a 1 minute 20.823 seconds. Third fastest was another Indigo Racing Hyundai i30 N TCR, the #87 with Kang Byung Hui at the wheel with a time of 1 minute 21 seconds flat.
Next up was the #19 E-Rain Racing Hyundai i30 N TCR of Noh Dong Gi on 1 minute 21.014 seconds and in fifth was the other E-Rain Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR driven by Andrew Kim clocking 1 minute 21.918 seconds. Finally in sixth was the #03 KMSA Motorsport Hyundai i30 N TCR of Kang Dong Woo on a 1 minute 22.930 seconds.
Practice Session 2
FP2 started at 12.40PM with the weather pretty much the same though the afternoon sun raised temperatures to about 12 degrees now. Clocking the fastest time yet again and surpassing his own FP1 lap time was Peter Terting in the #30 Hyundai Motorsport Hyundai i30 N TCR with a 1 minute 20.088 seconds.
In second was the #99 Indigo Racing Hyundai i30 N TCR of Kim Jin Soo on 1 minute 20.682 seconds. Going third fastest was Andrew Kim in the #20 E-Rain Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR with a time of 1 minute 20.802 seconds. Fourth fastest was the #87 Indigo Racing Hyundai i30 N TCR of Kang Byung Hui clocking a 1 minute 20.867 seconds.
Round up fifth and sixth place was the #19 E-Rain Racing Hyundai i30 N TCR with Noh Dong Gi at the helm on 1 minute 21.078 seconds, followed by Kang Dong Woo driving the #03 KMSA Motorsport Hyundai i30 N TCR setting a time of 1 minute 21.919 seconds.
