Sepang, Malaysia - The first ever Battle Of Machine Time Attack Challenge (BOMtac) rocked the very foundations of Sepang International Circuit on the 17th of November. Organised by the good people from SpeedDemon Motorville, Automods Garage and Raceplus Empire, BOMtac saw almost 50 cars compete in the time attack challange and approximately 130 cars participate in the subsequent track day.
The time attack challenge, which was split into seven categories, namely Battle of 1500cc, Battle of 1600cc (open), Battle of 2000cc, Battle of N/A, Battle of Turbo (open), Battle of Continental and Battle of Machine (open), started shortly after registration and safety briefing at 6pm (full results available soon in the image gallery below). The track day session started later from 10pm till 2am in the morning.
Unlike past time attack battles we have participated in or reported for 9tro.com, the new 'race into the night' format was fresh for many competitors, who were not just from Malaysia, but also Singapore, Thailand and Japan. Sepang has seen many machines and drivers alike, struggle in the well known searing temperatures and humidity, and the evening/night format allowed for much cooler temperatures.
