Singapore - Held at Kallang Leisurepark Carpark 5 over the span of two days (31st March - 1st April 2018), the 2018 Moto Velocidad Singapore encompassed everything a motorbiker could wish for!
There was a tonne of motor-racing going on spread over eight categories with 70 over riders vying for podium in their respective classes like 200cc 2-stroke, 200cc 4-stroke, Duke, Scooter, DRZ400, Supermoto Open, Supermoto Novice and Supermoto Intermediate.
Organised by Dominican Republic National MX Champion, Mr. Pablo Toribio with Motor Sports Singapore (MSS) officiating, the course (also designed by Mr. Toribio) proved to be a good mix of high speed straights and tricky corners within the massive carpark facility.
Day 1 saw practise sessions going on in the morning into the early afternoon while qualifying was carried out for the rest of the day. Day 2 was the actual race day where the bikers brought their game face on and the action was laid out fast and extremely furious!
There were several incidents that saw riders clipping too close to the concrete kerb resulting in their bikes being damaged, thankfully no one was badly hurt. Even the onset of a heavy downpour was not going to stop the action as the various finals of each class continued in the wet.
